SEASONAL CAMPS

A week at Chickadee can take you all kinds of places.

Out on the land, around the community, into a new project or learning something from someone with a story or skill to share. Camps are offered during school breaks, with each week bringing new themes, outdoor play, time in nature, community field trips and guest educators for full weeks of Chickadee fun!

THE N.E.S.T. EXPERIENCE

Our camps follow the same familiar daily rhythm as the Chickadee N.E.S.T. program.

Mornings are spent indoors, and afternoons are spent out on the land and exploring the community. Each camp has a weekly theme that brings new adventures and experiences to the day.

FOREST FREE TIME AND OUTDOOR PLAY

Children have space to play freely and spend time outdoors in nature in ways that follow their interests and curiosity.

COMMUNITY FIELD TRIPS

Camp takes us to different places around Yellowknife. We might visit a local organization, try a new activity, or spend the afternoon somewhere new in the community.

GUEST EDUCATORS

Guests and facilitators are invited to share their skills and lead unique activities, bringing something fun and different to each week.

    Chickadee N.E.S.T.

    Flexible daytime programming that offers children, especially those who are neurodivergeant, a supportive learning environment to build confidence and learn in a way that fits who they are.

    A free drop-in program where youth in Yellowknife can hang out with new  friends and explore their passions in a safe, supportive space. Participants take the lead by planning projects based on their own skills and interests.
